Calling Aros of Color
Almost four weeks ago, AUREA put out a statement addressing the global systemic police violence against people who are Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. Since then, we have seen Queer allies and people of color stand up for justice. Many Pride celebrations turned their attention to issues of racism and inequity seen not only in popular culture but also within Queer communities.
Although Pride Month is over, our work is only just beginning. AUREA is a new organization run by a fairly small team. Although we are always open to feedback from the community we serve, we know that implementing meaningful changes will require expert voices we do not necessarily have.
AUREA would like to better serve aros of color and put together resources that can benefit those who need them. As such, we are looking for volunteers that would be able to help. In particular, we want to put together articles and appropriate resources catering to aros of color. We also welcome guest articles and information about other resources that may not have come to our attention. Another invaluable information would be what kind of resources you would like to see. If you are interested or know someone who may be interested, send us an email via contact@aromanticism.org.
