It's probably an understatement to say aros have a complicated relationship with romance, but who doesn’t like to keep things simple? An upcoming project, the RomoAlert Media Database, is here to help with that. Much like the website Does the Dog Die? this record will be able to tell you ahead of time what you’re getting into when watching a movie, reading a book, or a TV show. Except this one will warn you about romance. Check them out to see how the project is going!
For all you creatives out there it's time to get #AggressivelyArospectacular. This week long event will return for the 11th to the 17th of November. Submit your original content for the whole aro community to see! No matter what it is you do - whether you’re an artist, a writer, a musician or something else entirely! - this event is the one for you.
Carnival of Aros is being held by Sennkestra and this month’s chosen topic is Aro Community Wishlists — what do you want to see happen for the aro community? No matter how big or small.
EDIT (8/11/19) And our roundup for last month can be found here on the topic of Aromanticism and Aloneness. Check out these thought provoking responses, all with very different perspectives.

The next Liverpool meetup will be held on the 10th of November at the Sugar and Dice Board Game Cafe. Go have some fun!
More from Sennkestra this month! For those of you in the San Francisco Bay Area the local ace groups are planning on putting together a little something for AroSpec Awareness Week next year. The groups are looking for aros who are interested in contributing either time or ideas. Who’s up for a little activism?
Aros in the media
Life as an autistic, asexual, agender student by Burgundy Johnson
“Regardless of my own blurry gray line between platonic and romantic feelings, I tell my loved ones that I simply have too much love to give and no single person can possibly contain it all, and that’s okay.”
Burgundy talks about their life and how their identity is met on their university campus. This is an uplifting read that many of us can relate to.
What's the Definition of Aromantic, and How Is It Different From Asexual? by Zachary Zane
“Back in the 90s, I would simply say that I rarely fall in love. Today, we have fancy, polysyllabic words to describe what I feel.”
This is a general, introductory piece on aromanticism and asexuality, however we are introduced to Hugo, a forty year old greyromantic, which is lovely to see.
The Virtues of Being Alone by Alim Kheraj
‘It’s like the lyrics of “Good Thing” say: “I'm not always selfish / Just bad at romance, it's not in my bones.” There’s even a definition and identity for it: aromantic.’
This article discusses solitude through the lens of the song: “Good Thing” by Zedd and Kehlani. This song is definitely one for us aros.
